Hope

Hey friend,
How was your week?
During one of my quiet time this week, I came across Romans 8:10,
“If Christ is in you, even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness”
This verse reminded me of Job from the Bible and how his faith and righteousness was tested with his body and all that he owned. Even with the state of his body (with sores) and all the tribulations that befell him, his hope reminded unwavering instead he gave thanks to God daily. This is what inspired my heart to tell you about hope.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
Hebrew 6:9
From our little understanding of how a ship journeys, we can agree that without an anchor that a ship cannot gain a stronghold at sea. When the anchor is thrown into the water, it works with its mass to sink deep, thereby pulling the ship to a stop.
Our hope is the anchor for our soul!
Our hope in the resurrecting power, grace and mercy of our Saviour is the anchor that can and is keeping us strong in faith.
I can never forget this words, “Christ is me, our hope of glory” He is our rock!
Where is your hope situated in; God, people or things?
The Scriptures tell us that everything can fail us, but God never fails nor forsake those that trust in Him.
Now if your hope in God is assured; and if your trust is restored; your faith is unwavering, that even in the darkest times you would give praises and thanks to the Father just like Job did.
He wasn't a perfect man, he had his falls but he able to recognize the One who above all things loved him, and became repentant when he fell short.
Today, if you feel that your hope in God is wavering , I pray that these words from the Scripture renew and strengthen your hope in Christ:
“Return to your stronghold, O prisoner of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double” ~Zechariah 9:12 (ESV)
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” ~Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
Dear Father,
Thank you for the person reading this,
You have made us Your sons and daughters through adoption into Your kingdom not because of anything but for Your love towards us, and we pledged to always trust in You.
You're always merciful and just to forgive us.
If there's anyone that has an unsteady hope and is about to fall out of Your grace, God please renew his/her hope in You, strengthen our faith.
May we find Your joy and peace daily, may our lips be humbled and grateful to sing of Your mercies all day long.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
